ABOUT ME
I graduated from the University of Portsmouth in July 2021 with an Upper Second-Class Honours Degree in Architecture. I hope to commence my Part 2 Masters of Architecture in September 2022 to continue my journey to becoming a registered RIBA architect.

My journey at university combined with my desire to thrive, has allowed me to obtain proficiency in my design capabilities. As an aspiring architect I seek to implement the community aspect of design, striving to develop cities and regions In ways that allow both ourselves and our future generations to benefit from sustainable architecture.

For me, architecture is more than just designing buildings; it is a craft, a passion, and a way of connecting society through utilising new technologies, materials, and concepts. I appreciate the work of Tadao Ando, and similarly enjoy incorporating natural lighting within my projects, as I believe that architecture thrives from this design tool. The importance of utilising light and shadows for cognition was an area I covered in my dissertation, and something that I will expand my knowledge on further through my postgraduate studies.

Prior to commencing my undergraduate degree, I completed an internship at MC Plan and Site Services, a building control consultancy. Through site visits with surveyors and structural engineers, I learned about the construction of residential and commercial buildings, having seen the process from foundation to completion stages. I later applied this knowledge to technology modules during my undergraduate degree. As a warranty assistant, I worked independently to provide customers with building insurance quotes. I worked collaboratively in a team dynamic to ensure that the customer received their final warranty certificate before the selling of the property.

In the final year of my undergraduate degree, I explored vertical farming as a solution to creating a greener depiction of Peckham, a densely populated, urban area. Hydroponics were implemented to grow locally sourced fresh food to be distributed to markets along Rye Lane.

I’ve always been eager to step out of my comfort zone, evident through the RIBA Future Architects mentoring scheme opportunity that was provided by the University of Portsmouth. My mentor was from PDP Architects, a firm based in Havant, who answered questions I had and presented a few of their projects to me. This experience gave me an insight into what being an architect is like.

I am proficient in CAD softwares such as Revit and Lumion and experienced with using Adobe Photoshop. My drive to succeed and enthusiasm for architecture motivates me to be the best version of myself.
